When you acquire a CRYPTOMATIC watch, you are getting a unique Limited Edition timepiece that only a few hundred people in the world will own. With proper care, it will last a lifetime and can be passed from generation to generation.

To keep your CRYPTOMATIC watch in perfect condition, we recommend the following:

  1. Use a fresh, lint-free microfiber cloth to clean your watch case and crystals. Gently wipe the surfaces in a circular motion until completely clean.

  2. Don't wear your strap too tightly. Always allow some room for your wrist to breathe. Both your strap and your wrist will appreciate it.

  3. Avoid placing your watch near loudspeakers, microwave ovens, refrigerators, or magnets. Mechanical watches are sensitive to the magnetic fields emitted by such devices.

  4. Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures, sudden changes in temperature, shocks, or vibrations.

  5. Although your CRYPTOMATIC watch is waterproof and can withstand an occasional shower or swim, we advise against diving with it as it is not designed for long-term exposure to deep water. Additionally, we strongly recommend not getting the leather strap wet.

  6. Avoid direct contact with solvents, detergents, perfumes, cosmetics, and other chemicals, as they may damage the surface finish of your watch, particularly on gold-plated models.

  7. Avoid using or placing your watch or strap near sharp objects (e.g., inside a purse, bag, or backpack).

WATCH CARE & USE

It's good practice to manually wind automatic watches before adjusting the time. The procedure is as follows:

  1. Unscrew the crown until it rotates freely. Hold the crown with your thumb and index finger and perform fifteen (15) clockwise winding turns. You will notice the second hand starts moving as well as the mechanism of the watch.

  2. Pull the crown outwards to the second position (2) and rotate in any direction to adjust the hour and minutes.

  3. Once you have set the desired time, push the crown in until it returns to its default position, then push it gently while you screw it back in until it stops moving.

The watch is now ready to wear.

You won't need to adjust the time if you wear the watch daily. If you stop wearing the watch for more than two days, you may need to repeat the above procedure to wind it and adjust the time again.

If you have a collection of automatic watches and like to wear different models daily, we recommend an automatic watch winder. There are numerous models on the market. These devices have a small electrical motor that rotates the watch continuously, ensuring it never runs out of power.

ADJUSTING THE TIME

  1. Use the screwdriver tool provided.

  2. Unscrew the pins and release them. Note that they may be a little stiff at first.

  3. Remove the links to achieve the desired length. There are four removable links per side. Make an even extraction of links from both sides of the strap. If you find this process difficult, we recommend visiting your nearest watch shop for assistance.
